Purpose of having Mentors
It has been shown that if a person has someone in an organization to turn to when confused, in need of help, or when needing friendship, their involvement and investment in the organization grows tenfold. So with this in mind this program was created.
A "mentor" is a House Leader who is charged with the well being of of their House Members. A "mentoree" is a House Member who is listed to be mentored by an House Leader. Each of the House Leaders will be assigned to a Clan Leader to be mentored by them.
Upon joining, new members will be assigned to one of the four houses which are lead by House Leaders (officers of the clan) who are appointed to mentor the members of their house. It is the responsibility of the member to add their House Leader's name to their friends list and to meet with them once a month for an hour. If you do not know who your mentor is go to the House page to find out. Members will be awarded a point for the meeting. There is a forum thread for the posting of Mentor Meetings, and it is the member's responsibility for posting the meeting.
How It Works
- Upon joining the clan each member will be assigned to a house. The house leader is their mentor.
- New member and House Leader both add each other to their friends list
- House Leader contacts new member and explains the mentor system and discusses clan norms.
- New member does member orientation
- Before the end of the month the new member sets up a meeting with their House Leader.
- After meeting and hanging out for an hour, member posts on the Mentor Meeting Thread.
Important Notes:
- Mentor Meetings are 1v1 meetings..you can not bulk mentor.
- It is required of members to meet with your mentor; missing your meetings may result in demotion or removal from clan.
- Mentoring Meetings can not take place during an event.
- If you run into an issue with who you are being mentored by or mentoring and wish to be switched, contact Appliquetion in regards to the matter. Only those with good reasons will be switched.
